£68,500 raised across 24 hours to help cancer patients in Cornwall
vibrant Christmas Fair
RECORDS BROKEN AT FESTIVE FAIR
The Cornwall Christmas Fair 2019 at the Eden Project smashed all records with £68,500 raised for Cornwall Macmillan. The money will help to fund a new rare and brain cancer nurse at the Royal Cornwall Hospital; Cornwall’s first dedicated nurse in this specialist area.
Supported by South West Water, the Eden Project’s iconic biomes were once again turned ‘Macmillan green’ to mark the opening of this years Christmas Fair to show support for Cornwall’s cancer patients. The Eden Kitchen, between the two Biomes, played host to a glorious array of Christmas gifts and decorations, home accessories, clothing, jewellery and skincare, and a diverse, delectable range of artisan produce in the Ginsters Food Hall.
Those who had cleverly booked Dales VIP Parking avoided the worst of the weather and the rest of us were extremely grateful for the lift down to the Fair in the Camel Creek land train. Thank you to everyone who, in the spirit of reuse and recycling, brought along a favourite vintage Cornwall Christmas Fair shopping bag, an initiative kindly sponsored by Lillicrap Chilcott.
Winners of the 2019 Grand Prize Draw, once again kindly organised by Santander, include Janice Richmond who is heading to the Hell Bay Hotel, Susie Byrne, now the proud owner of the David Linley Macassar Henley Box and Clare Williams whose day room is now adorned with her very own Ben Taffinder original oil painting.
We couldn’t achieve what we do without the invaluable support of all our sponsors including the exceptional PR, marketing and publicity provided by the teams at WildWest and Jarrang and the amazing administrative support at Trevornick.
But mostly we couldn’t do this without YOU! Thank you for buying your tickets and supporting this event, whether it be as a visitor, a sponsor, a donor of prizes for the Grand Prize Draw or Tombola, or a provider of ingredients, an Eden or Macmillan volunteer or a member of our dynamic committee. The effort is tremendous and the results incredibly rewarding.
